Specifications: Our brass tubing is .050" wall thickness, solid brass (not plated), mirror finish, light worked alloy 268 - (66% copper 34% zinc) These specifications meet or exceed almost all other brass suppliers. Our brass is an industry standard.
What diameter tube should I order?
1.5" tubing is somewhat more comfortable to grip, and often is used for handrails. Also, 1.5" can be used where a more delicate appearance is desired, for instance to hold partition curtains between booths.
1" Tubing: Door Pulls, Towel Racks, Toilet Paper Holders, Cafeteria Tray Slides
1.5" Tubing: Handrails, Curtain and closet rods, Go-go dancer poles/stripper poles (alternative), Glass racks, Coat racks, Booth Partitions
2" Tubing: Footrails, Crowd control rails, Go-go dancer poles/stripper poles (alternative), Waitress stations for bars.
Special sloted tubing one, two, or three slots to hold glass/plastic panels
What lengths of tube are available?
Two inch O.D. brass comes in lengths up to 16 feet. All other tubing comes in 12 foot maximum lengths. Maximum lengths we ship by UPS are 8 feet. We ship tubes 9 foot and longer by truck.
Two inch O.D. mirror finish stainless steel comes in lengths of 2', 4' 6' 8' and 12'. We do not cut stainless steel tubing to size.
We offer tube kits to ship by UPS tube lengths longer than 8. These kits have internal splices to join the lengths. Tube kits are recommended for footrails. For hand rails and dance poles/stripper poles use uncut lengths to avoid seams when running hands along the pole.
UPS-able Kits:
Many applications require tube lengths over 8 ft but UPS shipping is desired. For those applications we provide UPS-able tube kits. We have designed these tubing kits for tubing lengths 6 feet to 20 feet long. We provide the 6 feet to 8 feet kits for those customers who prefer to avoid the extra UPS shipping charges for those lengths, which may be shipped, but require oversized packages.
The kits are composed of tubing with splices. The tubes are cut so that when used in conjuction with the recommended number of brackets, the joints will be evenly distributed.
There are two types of kits depending on the desired placement of the end brackets or posts:
- End Rails: Brackets/posts at ends: Handrails and other railing systems can be designed using end posts such as P600 or P602 at the ends of a tube and P601 or P603 center posts evenly distributed between.
- Inset Rails: Brackets inset from 6" ends: Some railing systems, such as footrails, have the outside brackets inset 6 inches from the end of the rail and the remaining brackets evenly distributed between.
